Development Team Manager

A new role, managing people and culture in our team of developers at varying levels, and expanding the team throughout 2019. You’ll be reporting to the Managing Director and supported by the Technical Director (technical lead).

What we are looking for in you

  • Strong people management skills, and the ability to lead and influence others. You build relationships, provide effective coaching and feedback, and communicate with empathy to motivate staff at all levels
  • Experience building teams and managing individual performance, empowering them to achieve their goals, and putting their goals in to a broader strategic context.
  • Ability to think and act strategically and proactively. You are flexible and adaptable to change, manage your time effectively, and can effectively resolve conflicts.
  • Foundation technical knowledge that you might have learned as a developer earlier in your career. You understand the industry and overall skills required in the team.
  • You have managed teams of 5 or more developers. Experience in an agency or similar commercial context would be an advantage.

Web developer / Frontend

We are offering you

  • A frontend development role that is both technical and creative. You’ll be writing HTML and CSS to implement designs and interactivity, working closely with designers and backend developers.
  • Deliver meaningful and high-profile web and mobile applications, from creative cultural projects to government products used by millions of people.
  • A culture that values best-practice and mastering your craft, with plenty of opportunities to learn and try new things. We’re a friendly team, with casual environment and flexible working hours.

We are looking for

  • You have an eye for detail and appreciation of beautiful, well-crafted solutions. You have an interest how users interact with digital technology, and take pride in retaining the integrity of designs you develop.
  • Demonstrated frontend development skills (HTML, CSS) and an enthusiasm for writing clean, reusable and maintainable code. You can work independently to come up with creative solutions to frontend technical challenges.
  • Javascript development experience is a bonus but not required.
